As from 30 April 2013, a person applying for a Republic of Mauritius Passport will no longer be required to secure two countersignees stating on the “Application for Mauritius Passport” P.F.136, to the effect that they have known the applicant for at least two years. Also, there will be no need for the countersignees to certify the two photographs accompanying the application.
 

To this effect, the Passports Regulations 1969 have been amended through the Passports (Amendment) Regulations 2013. The amendments have been published in the Government Gazette, Government Notice No. 84 of 2013. The regulations will come into operation on 30 April 2013.
